About the role
Supporting our media team by planning best-in-class mail and door-drop campaigns, you’ll be involved in all aspects of the campaign process, from defining the brief to pitching, planning campaigns, presenting proposals, executing and measuring. Working with our internal teams and third party data owners, you’ll use data to build a story from customer briefs, and create innovative data led propositions for Royal Mail’s products.
Commercially savvy, with client facing experience, you’ll expertly balance customer and business objectives to increase the confidence and investment in our mail channel. Utilising a range of data analysis and geo-demographic techniques, you’ll generate audience insight to inform targeting and segmentation approaches. You’ll create data led mail recommendations that support CRM, acquisition, and retention, and present these face to face with the end customer. With a hands-on approach and excellent communication skills, you’ll work with third parties to build analytical models as appropriate. You’ll also measure success against client KPIs and ROI, and continue to evolve strategies through test-and-learn.
An experienced Data Planner, you’ll be used to working in a data focussed environment, turning insight into action. An exceptional communicator, you’ll be adept at creating and delivering presentations to clients at a variety of levels. With a proven track-record of planning and measuring mail and door-drop campaigns, you’ll be passionate about using data to discover new ways of improving the way we use direct mail.
Analytical and numerate, you’ll have the ability to quickly extract and interpret relevant information from complex data sets to produce clear and practical solutions and insight. Experience mining for insight using software such as Excel, Access, SQL or Tableau is a necessity, while knowledge of GIS software such as MicroVision / MV+ (Callcredit), MicroMarketer (Experian) or MapInfo is highly advantageous.
