Senior Sponsorship Sales Manager - Africa-Focused Events
This is a fascinating and unique role for an event sponsorship sales professional with an interest in, or passion to better know, Africa.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will secure blue chip partners for major human capital conferences the continent. You’ll design agreements, make connections and close deals to ensure that outstanding sponsors are supporting and getting great value from Africa's leading discussions on talent.
Our client’s event series brings together key people across business leadership, human resources, government, education and high-potential talent to deliver solutions to Africa’s human capital questions. Through knowledge sharing, facilitation of partnerships and the development of a continuous community, the series creates the forum to unlock the potential of Africa’s talent.
The series was launched in 2014 and has delivered human capital events throughout Europe and Africa, at locations including London, Paris, Nairobi, Abidjan, Lagos and Johannesburg. It is in growth mode, with new events, markets and formats planned and delivered every month by a dynamic, entrepreneurial team which is growing just as quickly. This is a great opportuniuty to get involved with the business at an early stage.
You will have 3+ years’ experience hitting targets in a conference and exhibitions sales environment, seeing opportunity, building networks, creating wins for everyone, negotiating and closing with tenacity at a senior level. You will understand the importance of relationships in business, creating new ones, growing existing ones and ensuring you protect them by exceeding expectations. You will be a born communicator; someone who gets their message across effectively both verbally and in writing. You may already know Africa - or you will be passionate about getting to know it better.
The role attracts and extremely competitive base salary and strong uncapped commission. International travel will be required.
