Senior IT Technician
Salary: £24,565 - £28,452

Applications are invited for the post of Senior IT Technician in the University’s IT service.
Based in the Faculty of Medical Sciences, you will provide technical and desktop support for PC, Mac, mobile and other peripherals for both staff and students, primarily in one of our research institutes but also for schools and other Institutes across the Faculty.
You will possess a broad and practical knowledge of PC/MAC hardware and software, including in-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite. You will also have a good understanding of computer networks, servers and database systems as well as experience of managing PCs within a Microsoft domain environment.
Experience of working in a multi-skilled team within a desktop support environment and dealing with customers on a face-to-face basis are essential, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a high degree of commitment to customer service.
You should be able to plan and organise your own workload, demonstrate significant attention to detail and be able to learn quickly. Experience of producing written documentation and providing end user training are desirable.
Applicants should hold a HNC or equivalent. Evidence of continuing professional development is desirable, for example through a relevant HND or an ECDL qualification.
