My client an award-winning, professional multi-disciplinary engineering practice with a passion for excellence, innovation and environmental sustainability is looking for an experienced Structural CAD Technician to join the Structural and Civil Engineering team to provide engineering support on single and multi-disciplinary projects, including new build and refurbishment projects for the public and private sectors.

The Structural CAD Technician will be responsible, under the leadership of the Senior Project/Project Engineer, for the project management of complex projects for clients in the Industrial, Educational, Leisure, Healthcare, Energy, Residential and Public sectors. This will include client liaison, limited design, interface with project teams and contract implementation.

The successful candidate will predominantly provide CAD assistance for both new build and refurbishment Structural projects but will also be involved in civil/drainage elements.
The ability to operate as part of a project team within appropriate authority levels and to represent the company with confidence to a variety of clients and outside organisations is expected.

Main responsibilities:
• Liaison with other project professionals
• Management of own workload and those of others assigned to the
project team
• Maintaining records and archives within the companies document and
project management systems
• The successful candidate will have the opportunity to improve their
knowledge, skills and experience whilst being mentored by one of our
Professional Engineers.
• The successful candidate may be a required to visit site from time to-
time and provide support to our other offices.

Essential requirements:
• Experience in GA detailing of Reinforced Concrete, Piling Layouts,
Foundation design, Structural Steelwork and other traditional types of
construction materials and below ground drainage.
• Experience of using Revit is essential.
• Experience in detailing roads & drainage schemes, and a good level of
computer literacy in Windows, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office software
is required.
• The candidate will have the ability to work on their own initiative as
well as part of one of our dynamic teams.
• The ability to operate as part of a project team within appropriate
authority levels and to represent the company with confidence to a
variety of clients and outside organisations is expected.
