Book keeper/Management Accountant, Godalming £27,000 to £35,000

Our client is looking for an organised and experienced individual to join their busy team.

Job Description

•Statutory Limited Company Accounts, Corporation Tax, Individual Self-assessment Tax Returns, VAT returns, some Bookkeeping (to support the above clients, but not pure bookkeeping), Management Accounts, Payroll, CIS returns
•Client meetings to support the above work
•Involvement in the development of the Company accounting & tax ‘department’
•Supporting bookkeepers in year end procedures
•Monitor / respond to client/colleague/HMRC communications
•Simple end of day e-mail report on progress overview
•Complete workflow Planner & Submissions Trackers as appropriate
•To maintain a personal daily time sheet as the working day progresses, to ensure accurate & fair recharge to clients & analysis of down time for personal / business information
•Payroll, once weekly
•Signing off email to Director, offering feedback on week’s progress in general & WIP being carried forward. Again, highlight any problems/delays & completed work
•Ongoing Bookkeeping, Accounts & Tax work, as required
•Sales invoice preparation for Accounts & Tax clients
•Month end procedures & management accounts
•Balance sheet reconciliations
•Bookkeeping and simple Management accounts
•Payroll for 10+ clients, including HMRC Submissions and Auto-Enrolment processing.
•CIS returns for clients
•CIS Suffered into appropriate payroll schemes & EPS submissions made by HMRC deadlines
•VAT Returns as required
•Client meetings
•Tracker / Planner / Time sheet completion / development
•Occasional training (Quickbooks / Xero) for co-workers or clients
•Company Secretarial (Basic)
•New client software set-up – particularly Quickbooks and/or Xero online clients
•Any duties in keeping with an Accountancy Practice & reasonably asked
•HMRC Compliance work

Person / Experience Required

Software experience of – Quickbooks, Xero, Sage, Tax calc & Taxfiler, Payroll Manager & Bright Pay. Excel, Word, Outlook.
Exceptional level of accuracy
Organised and able to work well under pressure
Self-motivated, enjoys keeping busy
Previous demonstrable experience in Accounts or Bookkeeping (Advanced)
