Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties Teaching Assistant - Special Needs College

I am currently in the process of recruiting several SEN learning support assistants to begin work in September 2017 at a Special Needs College in Stockport.

This college caters for young adults between 16-25 years old with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties and a multi-sensory impairment. As a learning support assistant you will be working 1-1 and in small groups with the students, supporting them in a number of subjects throughout the day, such as art, music, sport and horticulture. They have access to hydrotherapy swimming pools, sensory gardens and other specialist facilities. The role is to help encourage and promote independence for the young adults.

These roles are temporary to permanent. You would work between Monday and Friday, from 8:30am until 3:30pm.

The successful learning support assistant will ideally:
- Be enthusiastic, driven and conscientious
- Have previous experience working with children or young adults with Learning Difficulties.
- Be comfortable with personal care as you would be expected to assist with feeding and toileting for pupils of all ages.
- Excellent communication skills
