A role has arisen for a structural engineer in the Leicester office of a national civil and structural engineering consultancy.

This business has undergone a sustained period of growth in previous years and now seeks an individual who is looking to progress their career with the firm by both helping ensure that current work is delivered in line with the high standards of design and project management that have underpinned expansion to date, and by playing a part in future growth plans for this ambitious business.

The role requires:

* Experience of structural assessment, design and detailing of foundations and superstructure elements in concrete, steel and timber
* Good technical design expertise using British and international standards
* Good understanding of structural theory with strong analytical skills and a track record of problem solving
* Develop scheme designs as required by the Directors.
* Manage projects from inception through to completion and deliver projects within timescale and budget
* Respond to design queries during construction phase and attend site meetings and initiate relevant project meetings.
* Communicate project's critical issues in a timely manner to Directors and clients.
* Ability and desire to mentor junior engineers, graduates and technicians and to lead design aspects of projects including managing quality, budget, programme and resources
* Willingness to undertake an active role to retain and expand the client base to assist the growth of the business
* Input into fee proposals.
* Bachelor's degree (min. 2:1)
* Ability to lead design aspects of projects including managing quality, budget, programme and resources
* Experience in working as part of a team and liaising directly with clients, other consultants and other design team members

Salary will be commensurate with experience from £45000 plus excellent benefits
