An experienced Project Manager for an established Main Contractor who work throughout the UK on traditional build projects with an emphasis on Hotel Construction. You will be expected to fit in with their Northern Ireland culture which includes long hours, dedication etc.

The Company…
My client is a privately owned award winning property development, investment and construction firm with in excess of 40 years experience in the acquisition, design, development and construction of property. Based in Northern Ireland, the Company has operated throughout Ireland and the UK having undertaken projects in London, Cardiff, Belfast, Newcastle, Brighton, Dublin and most regional cities.
The activities of the Company are principally focused on the development and construction of high density city centre schemes, often as mixed use projects or as stand-alone buildings. The Company are specialists and market leaders in the hotel and office sectors having completed in excess of 14,000 hotel bedrooms for 14 national branded operators on over 60 projects and over 2m sq ft of office accommodation throughout the UK.
City Centre apartment and suburban housing schemes are also undertaken by the company.

The Job…
They are looking to recruit an experienced, permanent Project Manager to work on a busy Hotel in project in Brighton. The project is a two year scheme and consists of a very large Hotel with in excess of 300 rooms.
Total value is in excess of £30m and experience on high rise projects of similar value is essential.
This project will involve an initial 4 month demolition with the listed facade remaining before a 20 month construction programme. There are logistic problems with the site surrounded by a busy road, railway line and canal!

The Person…
• Able to work independently.
• Carry out the specified building works within the site constraints and
liaise with the client, clients representatives and ensure the works are
completed on time, on budget a safely.
• Ensure the 90 day plan and meeting matrix are up to date on a regular
basis and that information is disseminated throughout the site team
and management.
• Hold regular site meetings with principle subcontractors throughout the
project maintaining time constraints.
• Hold monthly progress meetings with the client/client representative.
• Manage all site personnel in a competent and professional manner.
• Manage a site based Health & Safety advisor and ensure the
enforcement of health & Safety in line with the companies Safety,
Health & Environmental Management System (SHEMS).
• Liaising with company buyer hiring, off hiring plant and materials
• Effective daily use of appropriate company Information Systems and
databases.
• Direct liaison with, Operations (Technical) and Commercial departments
ensuring that up to date records of all sites activities are retained,
thereby achieving cost/quality control; and report on the same to the
Operations Manager.
• Lead, motivate, communicate with, coach and mentor junior staff
members and ensure staff are fully motivated to achieve best
performance to meet the company’s needs.
• Previously worked on a high rise development
• Competent within RC frame construction
• 5 years + relevant experience.
• Recognised, relevant qualification.
