EHS Advisor (Contract) - London

We are looking for an EHS Advisor for an initial contract up to the end of the year but with expected extension. This is to work on the prestigious Crossrail project for Systems and Services supplier to the Rail industry at their client's sites in London installing Platform Screen Doors on the night shift.

The EHS Advisor will act as the interface between the Project, EHS and Construction teams for the environmental health and safety for company's staff within the project.

Responsibilities and duties:

* Positive EHS attributes to inspire and support personnel to achieve the highest standards whilst developing a strong team spirit and culture.
* An innovative, challenging and tenacious individual who leads by example, proactively enabling others to deliver commercial and operational objectives whilst developing and exploring future strategies for business.
* The provision of client support and assurance to ensure contractors comply with contractual and project requirements, including the development, continuous improvement, delivery and maintenance of a positive, healthy and safe work environment.
* Overseeing day to day requirements of health and safety issues. Undertaking assurance activities to ensure the principle contractor complies with the project and 3rd party requirements with the SHEQ CDM Consultant
* Working closely with the Construction Team, Project Management and EHS team, implement processes into non-contractual environments within the project.
* Act as and provide CDM guidance to the CDM representative within the project wide delivery team. Administer and maintain the CDM procedure, RIVO system, training and ensure KPI's are achieved
* Responsible for overseeing the implementation and safety arrangements delivered by principal contractors.

Experience and Qualifications:

* Degree standard or professional equivalent in EHS, CDM,
* Civil Engineering Degree, NEBOSCH Diploma, CDM
* Extensive experience in a Civil Engineering project and EHS function within a complex, diverse project
* An in-depth understanding of legislative framework, regulations, codes of practice and related practice and the workings of statutory agencies
* Excellent IT skills and report writing
* Excellent communication and influencing skills
* Demonstrated CPD

Rate: £25.00 to £30.00 per hour negotiable dependent upon experience
