Client Overview:

Our client is an industry specialist in Rolling Stock and Freight Locomotive overhaul and maintenance. From their depot in Derby they specialise in the inspection and overhaul of Rolling Stock and Rail Freight Fleets for companies based across the UK.

Job overview:

We are looking for Two Lead Technicians for a fixed 6 month contract based in Derby. The role will involve the examination and overhaul of Rolling Stock and Rail Freight Vehicles. Work will involve the inspection and replacement of Mechanical and Electrical components including Traction Equipment, Bogies, Wheelsets, Fire Safety Systems and other relevant equipment. The role will mainly be working on Monday to Friday days; however applicants must be flexible to working weekends and be able to work on call.

Person Profile:

We are looking for Two Lead Technicians; candidates can be either electrically or mechanically qualified but must be competent in both trades. Candidates must have previous Rolling Stock experience and be able to demonstrate relevant experience of exams, C4 or C3 Overhaul's.

Qualifications/Experience:

The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;

*Mechanical or Electrical Qualifications to Level 3 Minimum (City & Guilds, NVQ, etc.) or Apprentice trained.
*Relevant Rolling Stock experience including exams, C4 or C3 Overhaul's.
*Flexibility; Candidates must be able to work to varying requirements including working weekends and on call.
*Leadership; the ability to make clear, evidence based decisions with regards to vehicle and component suitability, as well as mentor other permanent and contract staff.
