I am currently recruiting for a skilled care assistant to join an established team within residential service for older adults, some of whom have dementia in a suburban area of Dudley.

You will be based within a thirty plus bedded residential service and committed to the delivery of high quality care and support. You will work closely with a team of care and support staff and be guided by a competent manager who is committed to the delivery of high quality care and support and the promotion of dignity and independence.

You role will be to provide Night Wake Support and your duties will include:
*To provide the highest levels of personal care, ensuring that care plans are followed accordingly.
*To act as a key worker for residents (following the training manual and Care Plans)
*To comply with all relevant Health and Safety requirements, COSHH and infection control
*To be alert to a resident`s safety, physical and mental wellbeing and to report any changes to a senior member of staff.
*Update and maintain accurate resident records.
*To respect and maintain confidentiality at all times
*Be understanding and patient towards residents needs, encourage and assist residents to partake in leisure activities. Ensuring social and emotional needs are met.
*Be responsible for making and changing residents beds, tidying residents rooms (with residents permission) undertaking light cleaning duties and laundry duties and generally ensuring that the home is clean, pleasant and welcoming at all times.
*Help to serve meals and drinks at meals times and other times when required, taking care to present meals in an attractive way.
*To support and help residents who require assistance with eating and drinking.
*To be an active member of the Care Team, contribute to team meetings, Ensuring good communication and helping new team members where appropriate, to attend training and development activities.
*To undertake any other tasks as appropriate to the role.

Ideally you will have:
*Previous experience and knowledge of working with older adults and those with Dementia
* Be qualified to NVQ Level 2 or above in Health and Social Care
*You will be flexible to work a varied shift pattern, which includes evenings, weekends and public holidays.

You will be paid £7.55ph and work a varied shift pattern that follows a 6 week rota. You will work a 12 hour waking night shift that starts at 8pm and finishes at 8am. Your working pattern will be 3 days on followed by 3 days off. The rota is refreshed every 6 weeks. The hours of work is based on an average of 42 hours a week.
