Road Management Inspector needed in Westminster £17-£21ph ref 260904
This is working full time hours on a temporary basis.
Role -
• Complete full routine or reactive highway inspections to schedule, identifying defects and the underlying cause. Issue appropriate remedial works to contractors and provide guidance on how this should be undertaken. Respond direct to customers where appropriate.
• Monitor and inspect streetworks activity and implement requirements of all statutory Codes of Practice and legislation. Ensure full compliance and maximise potential for cost-recovery
• Inspect and licence temporary structures on the highway to ensure safety, compliance, and the appropriate rectification of any highway damage found.
• Represent the client in court in defence of highway accident claims providing expect witness and evidence in support of the Council’s statutory defences.
• Work with third-parties and other stakeholders to recover costs from damage caused to the highway and to manage works undertaken on behalf of third-parties.

GCSE English and Maths Grade C
NRSWA Streetworks Accreditation Supervisor Level

Work experience
• Significant experience working on the highway or supervising those working on the highway.
• Significant demonstrable background in, highway maintenance or inspections, undertaking or inspecting Streetworks, or monitoring and licensing of temporary structures.

Skills/ Knowledge:
• Can demonstrate ability to understand reasons for technical failures in the highway structure and asses what remedial measures are required.
• Solid understanding of New Roads and Streetworks Act, Traffic Management Act, and Highways Act.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Customer Service skills
