Job Title: Electrician
Locations: Positions in various inner London boroughs, Greater London and roles based in Wrexham (North Wales)
Reports to: Field Operations Technician (FOT)

PURPOSE:
Required to install and maintain electrical systems/installations on behalf of local authorities providing housing and property maintenance services. You will be required to carry out programmed and reactive installation and maintenance activities, within both empty and tenant occupied buildings/ properties.

NATURE & SCOPE:
T Brown Group is a property maintenance provider, which specialises in gas and electrical installation and maintenance solutions to private/local authority domestic, commercial and industrial properties.

The role of electrician will be to undertake the key duties listed below in accordance with current IET Electrical Regulations to BS7671 and to ensure that all Health and Safety regulations as well as any TBG safety procedures in place are adhered to prior to commencement of any job or task.

ROLE SPECIFICATION:
The responsibilities that the role carries include but are not limited to the below;

• To undertake the role of electrician in accordance with Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and carry out repairs which will include rewiring and upgrade work to domestic and commercial properties, carry out minor electrical repairs, test and remedy faults. Test, record and certify all tasks in line with current wiring regulations.

• Required to inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for repairs or replacements to ensure compliance with the relevant British Standard.

• Able to carry out electrical installations, planned maintenance, responsive repairs to a good standard.

• Able to fault find and making electrical systems safe, wherever necessary.

• Able to work unsupervised if required.

• Able to work on own initiative.

• Responsible for monitoring and maintaining your company issued plant/equipment at all times.

• Responsible for monitoring and maintaining your company issued materials at all times and ordering replacement items in a timely fashion (when required).

• In accordance to RAMS and associated paperwork in place, you must adhere to the health & safety criteria and report any deficiencies.

• Receive verbal and written instructions for each job or project and investigate the site where the work is to be carried out.

• Be able to diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, components, using test equipment to locate the cause of the breakdown and wherever possible correct the problem.

• To ascertain the exact specifications for the job possibly by discussion with line manager/ supervisor and make the appropriate arrangements.

• To effectively test electrical systems and record the information in accordance with the relevant British Standards.

• To undertake urgent tasks as they arise and assist other staff within the team

• To advise and refer any problems to the supervisor or manager, on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.

• Maintain appropriate procedures for all aspects of Health and Safety regulations in line with TBG procedures

• Contribute to the continuous improvement and effectiveness within your team.

• Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by your line Manager or Supervisor.

HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work safely and not adversely affect the safety of themselves and/or anyone affected by their actions as defined by the Health and Safety at Work Act.

• Observe any warnings provided in respect of potential risks in their working environment.

• Comply with company policy in respect of correct use of PPE and any necessary safety equipment.

• Utilise specific job related knowledge and experience to ensure that all work undertaken meets current regulations and safety standards.

• Provide feedback on any issues which might affect safety including any near misses.

• Report Health and Safety issues in the first instance to the supervisor/manager, or to the area safety representative. Escalation of any issue should be direct to the QHSE department at Head Office.

Electrical qualifications – minimum - C&G 2382 / 2330-01 level 2 & C&G 2382 / 2330-07 level 3 Essential
Electrical qualifications – optional - C&G 2391 / 2393 / 2394/ 2395 Desirable
HEALTH & SAFETY
Certificate of Asbestos Awareness Training Essential
Certificate of Training Achievement for Working at Height, Manual Handling, First Aid, or other. Desirable
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5 years experience Essential
Previous experience installing & diagnosing electrical control wiring faults on domestic central heating systems. Desirable
