Great new opportunity to join this large London based Housing Association as a Clerk of Works on an on going contract

They are looking for an experienced Clerk of Works with particular expertise in fire safety works resulting from Fire Risk Assessments

Responsibilities:

- Associated fire safety works which include fire doors, sprinkler systems, fire alarms, smoke detectors, smoke alarms, emergency lighting, compartmentation
- To ensure the works on site are carried out in compliance with all required standards such as specifications, plans and contract documents and relevant statutory and best practice
- Closely monitor all programme milestone targets and report back to the project team of any concerns
- Pro-actively identify quality issues on site and bring to the attention of the project team
- To pay regular visits to projects and properties in contract and undertake regular site inspections
- To attend site progress meetings and report findings and ensure the all reported issues are properly dealt with and closed down
- Attend site inspections, snagging and handovers of the works delivered through the programme. This will involve visiting sites, checking work against contract specification and industry best practice, liaising with the contractors, contract administrators and project manager and feedback/escalation of information/problems

Essential Criteria:

- Experience of the full range of Clerk of Works duties for all allocated fire safety projects.
- Experience of preparing reports on the progress of contracts.
- Experience of working with Building Contractors to ensure they keep accurate records.
- Experience of establishing and maintaining systems for recording data.
- Working knowledge of inspections of all works to ensure that they are executed in complete accordance with the Contract and technical brief requirements.
- Knowledge of providing detailed KPI monitoring information on all allocated projects
- Ability to identify defective work and ensure complete and satisfactory rectification.
- Ability to carry out inspections and list snagging items and schedules of defects at hand-over and at the end of the Defects Liability Period.
