Business Development Manager - Sport

A fantastic new role has arisen for a proven business development specialist to join a leading sports organisation in the Gloucestershire area.

This a broad sales role that will challenge you to generate new sources of revenue across all areas of the business, including advertising, sponsorship, hospitality and events.

You will use your excellent knowledge of the area coupled with the pre-existing relationships you have with local businesses to hit the ground running, ensuring that you get in front of decision makers as quickly as possible and have an immediate pipeline of potential opportunities. In addition, you will be confident in your ability to generate leads from scratch; prospecting for new business and making cold-calls as and when required.

As well as selling existing products and services, you will also use your industry understanding and competitor knowledge to work closely with senior management in the creation of new propositions.

To be considered for this position it is essential that you are a self-motivated and driven business to business sales professional with a demonstrable success of selling a broad range of services. Ideally you would have experience of working in a sport and have an excellent understanding of the commercial world in this environment. Applications will however be gratefully received from any candidate that has the right business development skills and feels they could successfully transition this to the sports sector.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent negotiator, a master at handling objections and a strong communicator able to pitch and present to senior levels in business.

A competitive salary of up to £26,000 basic + bonus, commission, car allowance and excellent benefits is on offer to the successful candidate
