About Acer
Acer Clinic is a specialist service for women with a personality disorder and other complex mental health needs.

The Role
• Within this role you will be responsible for the maintenance of our residential home in Sheffield for adults with learning difficulties and related conditions.
• You will be required to carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks and must have joinery and plumbing experience, also the ability to undertake general building work and possess basic tools to carry out these tasks.
• The ideal candidate will have worked in similar position or have worked in a self-employed capacity in recent years.
• You will be capable of working independently and have a suitable vehicle to transport relevant items to carry out your role i.e. large items of MDF, cut Perspex etc (business miles will be reimbursed).
• This role involves some on call duties as there is occasionally a need to carry out emergency repairs outside of normal working hours.
• You will also be required to undertake relevant training to support you within your role and fulfil your obligations in relation to supervisions to ensure these are worthwhile and constructive.
• You will be expected to maintain confidentiality at all times and maintain an awareness of relevant policies and procedures and ensure these are followed at all times.
• Successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced disclosure; the expense of this will be met by the employer.
• All new staff are required to successfully complete a six month probationary period.

Successful candidate will demonstrate:
• Good standard of general education.
• Basic knowledge of all ground maintenance works.
• Basic Knowledge of H & S issues in connection with the building industry.
• Ability to record detailed and accurate works information relating to maintenance tasks.
• Experience of completing basic ground maintenance tasks on domestic occupied properties.
• Experience of working with a range of portable tools, ladders and equipment to enable duties of the role to be carried out.
• Ability to prioritise workload and work in a systematic and organised manner to ensure maintenance tasks are completed within an agreed time scale.
• Demonstrate empathy, patience and understanding of residents` needs and requirements.
• Ability to communicate with managers and staff and work as a team.
• Able to work alone and make a judgement on the tasks required to complete the duties of the role.
