THE INDUSTRY: Automotive Tyres, Servicing & Repair

THE SALARY: c£40,000 Basic + Bonus + Benefits

THE ROLE: Working for one of the largest and most successful national networks of tyre, service and repair centres in the UK has always presented a challenge to those individuals wishing to break in to the marketplace and prove themselves. The chance has now come as this organisation is breaking the mould by wanting to concentrate fully on your management skills rather than how quickly you can change a tyre or complete an MOT.

Your main responsibility as an operations manager will be the overall management of the centre and its team which consists primarily of technicians and mobile fitters. With a great deal of autonomy provided to you, you will be pivotal in making important business decisions with the aim of running as efficiently as possible, but also growing sales and customer satisfaction. Through the concentration on training and development, you will lead the team in hitting their KPI’s and managing P&L.

As the face of the business, you won’t just be sat behind a desk all day as you will also deal with a variety of customers, both public and trade ranging from those that walk through the door or the accounts you make a conscious effort to go and visit externally.

Based in Slough you will be overseeing a key branch within the network which will mean your role is equally challenging and rewarding at the same time, working for an organisation where the opportunities for personal and career development are endless. Backed up by an extensive training program, you will oversee your own personal development and will be able to tailor your own future.

As an individual, you will ideally be experienced in people management, can work under pressure and think outside the box. By understanding what a role of this nature takes to succeed you will grow and push your centre forward.

Ideal backgrounds that will be a fit for this opportunity would include anyone that has been an operations manager, hub manager, centre manager or general manager and has worked within a tyre dealer, windscreen repair, tool hire, motor factor, vehicle rental and leasing or dealership. Although this criteria is advantageous, it is not an essential requirement as management skills and your own personality are more important.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* People Management experience – Essential
* Driving Licence – Essential
* Automotive Industry Experience – Preferred but not essential
* Confident in dealing with customers over the telephone and face-to-face – Essential.
