Role:

TRAINEE SALES & TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER

The sales and technical project manager acts as the bridge between the sales team and the technical team for the benefit of the customer ensuring a seamless transition between departments in the order process.

Working with the customer from quote to order stage the Sales and Technical Project Manager is responsible for both compiling estimates of how much it will cost to provide a client or potential client with our products or services and compiling sales order confirmations and production documents that ensure that the products ordered meet customer requirements in full.

Job Description

A sales acumen combined with attention to detail and well-rounded communication skills in order to interact with various customer types is key in this role. Commercial awareness is also paramount to ensure that margins goals are achieved for the overall business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

* Interpreting specifications in order to generate an accurate quote and sales confirmation documents in line with the customers' requirements and design needs.
* Effectively communicating with architects, clients and private individuals on project requirements, technical data and product designs.
* Recognising and capitalising on buying signals from customers and liaising with the internal and external sales team on quote conversion.
* Recognising and taking opportunities to up sell from within the product range to maximise margin for the company.
* Attend site visits and client meetings where required.
* Produce detailed CAD drawings to accompany quote and sales confirmation documents ensuring the customer is fully aware of the product they are ordering.
* Produce manufacturing paperwork and communicate with the factories on technical details.
* Offer technical advice and guidance to customers and peers.

Key Performance Areas:

* Ensure that customers have all the necessary information presented in a clear and concise manner to ensure awareness of the product they are going to receive.
* Effective communication is key in understanding and interpreting customer design requirements.
* Effective organization skills are required in ensuring deadlines and forecasts are met.
* An eye for design and initiative should be utilized where producing technical drawings for bespoke products.
* Identify system changes or improvements to streamline day to day processes.

The Ideal Candidate:

* Excellent customer service skills are a must.
* Self-motivated you need to show a strong willingness to succeed.
* Outgoing, and sales orientated experience of being in a sales office environment is desired.
* As a key member of both the sales and technical teams you will need to exhibit the ability to adapt to both environments and work as part of a large team.
* Keeping track of a large number of different clients you will need to demonstrate good planning, organisation and prioritisation skills.
* Computer literate you must be proficient in the use of Microsoft programmes.
* Experience of AutoCAD 2D/3D desired but not essential.
* Experience of Revit desired but not essential.

Salary £22,000 per annum.
