I am currently looking for an analytical scientist to join a contract analytical and development company based in West Yorkshire. The company supports a range of industries including Healthcare and Pharmaceutical. Due to continued and planned growth they have an opportunity to join their materials group.

The role of analytical scientist involves using analytical methods and techniques to investigate and report on the chemical or physical characteristic of test samples submitted by clients. The idea candidate will have experience in the analytical field, particularly ICP-MS and ICP-OES, but experience in a broad range of analytical techniques is desirable. The site operates to GMP standard therefore experience of working within a regulated environment would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Laboratory-based analytical project work, applying diverse analytical techniques to a wide range of sample types.
• Data processing and report writing. Review of data / reports generated by colleagues.
• Developing and validating methods, including drafting of related documents (methods, protocols, reports).
• Principle techniques dependent on experience and training.
• Client liaison, inter-group liaison, internal projects and initiatives.
• Training of co-workers in own specialist techniques.

Role Requirements:

• A degree in Chemistry, analytical chemistry or equivalent with relevant industrial experience.
• Practical experience in developing and validating analytical methods; method development research skills
• Familiarity with GMP
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, think and work independently, problem-solve, work in teams and multitask.
• Able to identify and highlight own training needs, and proactively upskill.
• Basic equipment maintenance and trouble-shooting skills.
• Strong written and oral communications skills; IT Literate.
• A full, clean UK driving license.
• Proactive in your approach to your work.
