Role: Train Maintenance Technician - South London £35,000 + Final salary pension
Salary: £35,000 + Free Train Travel + Final salary pension + Bupa
Location: South London

An exciting opportunity for maintenance engineers to retrain and join the train/rolling stock maintenance Industry; full detailed training plan set out for you to become a certified train maintenance engineer, working for an establed and well known Rail company.

Role profile:

If you have worked as a maintenance technician either electrically or mechanically biased and you have worked on the following equipment, HVAC, Plant, industrial electrical equipment, generators, switch gear, 3 phase, marine engines, HGV's, plant, Light Vehicles in an industrial, commercial or Armed forces environment and you are interested in becoming a train maintenance engineer apply now.
As a maintenance engineer, you will need to have a good understanding of mechanical principles and can read electrical schematics, as this role offers you the opportunity of developing your skills to include duel skilled engineer capable of fault finding both electrically and/or mechanically.

This is a hands on depot based maintenance role, working on a rotating shift system over a 13 week roster. And will include a mixture of early, lates and nights.

Roles and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

· Undertake routine Electrical & Mechanical maintenance of components and systems in accordance with the relevant exam schedule.
· Complete exams against fleet specs.
· Compile formal reports detailing post incident / failure.
· Carry out general cosmetic repairs in the carriages, such as changing, light fitting and door locks, in addition to repairing the body side of units.
· Undertake basic servicing e.g. brake pads, air filters, oil etc.
· Advise Production Manager / Depot Coordinating Manager of any problems or defects identified and work arising from the issues.

Required Experience

* You need to be an Engineer - Be it Mechanical or Electrical with a minimum of an NVQ level 3 equivalent in an Engineering discipline
* Must be heavy duty engineering involving either fault finding or maintenance not on an assembly line role or installing components position, fault finding and maintenance is a must.
