Employability/Functional Skills Tutor covering Bolton and Surrounding Areas

Our employability team is growing! We are currently looking for an experienced Functional Skills Tutor to join our successful employer led traineeship team within the Bolton area.

Main Responsibilities include:

Delivering Literacy & Numeracy to unemployed learners aged 16

Deliver and assess accredited learning such as employability skills, CV writing, interviewing

Complete all necessary paperwork to a compliant and quality standard

Provide learners with an engaging induction on to programme.

Undertake a thorough initial assessment with learners and agree an individual learning plan that meets their needs, is SMART and progresses them to their goals

Conduct regular and timely reviews with learners as per the standard operating model, reviewing progress and setting SMART targets accordingly, and providing additional learner support as required

Be responsible for learner attendance, carrying out all internal processes and ensuring targets are achieved

Maintain engagement of learners on programme to ensure that retention targets are met

Plan delivery and assessment in a thorough scheme of work and achieve timely success targets

The ideal candidate will have:

A teaching qualification such as PTLLS

Level 3 Certificate for Adult Numeracy and/or literacy Subject Specialism

Proven track record of delivering accredited qualifications; preferably in Employability

Ability to understand and interpret a broad range of curriculum

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Good administration and IT skills

An ability and willingness to travel

• To maintain regular contact with new Apprentices to identify issues and track progress on programme
• Work with operational teams to identify learners who have left/completed their Apprenticeship/Traineeship programmes without achieving qualifications and reengage them onto programme
• To maintain contact with learners who have left/completed/progressed their Traineeship programme and establish progression/outcome destination
• Identify potential learning/programme opportunities for previous learners and liaise with sales/E-commerce to progress onto programme
• To support the Operational and Sales teams in ensuring learners are progressed and supported within the first 6-10 weeks of their apprenticeship.
• Offer support for learners across a wide-variety of occupational specialisms
• Engage with new apprentices on a daily basis to provide advice and guidance and assist with any issues or concerns within their first 6 weeks of employment.
• Supporting learners at risk of not achieving their programme/leaving
• Offer support for learners with Additional Learning Needs and liaise with relevant departments
• Be the first point of contact for all enquiries regarding all new apprentices who are in placement.
• Validating all new starts by confirming start dates and programmes with learners and employers
• Liaise with Training Advisors with regards to changes of circumstance with new and existing learners
• Liaise with and respond to all client enquires regarding their learner or apprentice
• Identify all potential early leavers to the for further investigation
• Offer Support and guidance to apprentices/learners on skills scans, start of learning plans, e- portfolio and Babington online.
• Gain an understanding of how all departments interact and how this will affect new learners.
• Gain an understanding of policies and procedures and Babington’s Compliance procedures.
• To be responsible for ensuring that all Key Performance Indicators are consistently achieved.

The post holder must meet the requirements of the Data Protection Act at all times.
