Accounts and Payroll Manager, Greater Manchester - £28 – 30 000 + benefits

This is an exceptional opportunity for a strong well rounded Accounts and Payroll expert to work for a fun, energetic yet professional company based in the Greater Manchester area. The organisation has in excess of 150 staff.

The Role: The successful individual will be based at the head office but communication with other sites will be required hence a good level of communication skills is sought so as to explain things simply and easily and communicate with stakeholders with varying levels of understanding of Accounts and Payroll. Being a stand-alone role within a busy office environment a degree of self starting and confidence in own skill set is required. An individual who is approachable and always seeking to innovate and strive for the best, who can build confidence with the rest of the business will be successful.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Day to day control of accounts payables, accounts receivables and reconciliation of bank accounts to ensure that finances are maintained in an accurate and timely manner.
- Responsible for Payroll using SAGE payroll for circa 150 employees including starters and leavers, employee payroll queries, Time and Attendance, P45's, P46's, SSP - Sick Pay, SMP - Maternity Pay, SSP Paternity pay, general payroll paperwork, preparation of monthly BACS payments and termination payments.
- Production of monthly, quarterly, and year end management accounts and reports to the Board of Directors
- Dealing with HMRC and PAYE,
- Processing starters/leavers and amendments on the Company pension scheme and management of the pension auto enrolment process. Bank reconciliation and accurate completion of quarterly VAT returns. Checking and processing of staff expenses. Assisting with preparation of accruals, credit control and payment schedules.
- General finance administration including filing, archiving, to resolve accounting and payroll queries via phone and e-mail and where applicable, escalating them to ensure issues are resolved appropriately and timely.

Essential Experience and skillset: To cover above, a minimum 3 Years’ experience in a similar Accounts and Payroll role: Excellent knowledge of SAGE 50 Accounts and SAGE Payroll systems; Knowledge and experience of Time and Attendance Systems; Good Excel including formulas and producing reports; An AAT or similar qualification would be highly desirable but not essential.
