An exciting opportunity has become available with our client a well known Commercial Manufacturer of Truck and Heavy Vehicles for a District Sales Manager to cover the Northern region.

The job role consists of the following duties:

-To manage, monitor and exploit all Heavy Truck Sales through the Dealer & Common Channels utilising all of the relevant tools provided by the Dealership.

-To work closely as a Team with the District Sales Manager – Daily, within the defined District of responsibility, in order to grow the Dealers performance by using all possible strategic levers to ensure performance in line with objective.

-To achieve all District Sales objectives in the form of Ordertake, Market Share, Customer Share, Revenue, Invoicing and Dealer Stock Management. Interface with Distributors, Sales Managers, Salesmen and Team Colleagues to develop sales opportunities by identifying where and who their prospective Customers are located.

-To facilitate the development and growth of profitable business and sustainable relationships using appropriate Marketing and Sales process methods. To maximise business opportunities utilising all available products and services.

-Agreeing and monitoring performance, Sell In, Sell Out, Consistency and OCF input versus the Dealers objectives for the Truck Range.
-Calculation and preparation of detailed quotations for the identified Common Channel Customers.

-Actively seek out and develop relationships between Dealers and Customers.

-Regularly update the log providing accurate and timely reporting on Deal sheet outcomes.

-Provide accurate Sell In & Sell Out forecasting to National Dealer Sales Manager on a weekly basis Effectively communicate and monitor all Campaigns ensuring Dealers fully understand the objectives and processes required and are maximising them to the full.

-Preparation and monitoring of Quarterly Marketing Plans in conjunction with the Dealer and Marketing department.

-Monitoring and facilitating management of the Distributor’s vehicle Stock & Pipeline levels. Monitoring and facilitating management of the distributor’s Demonstrators, ensuring the maximum utilisation and return on investment Maintain in depth knowledge of the sales activity within each Distributors area of opportunity.

-To manage and monitor the Dealer & Common Channel elements of the Channel Mix Strategy utilising the tools provided by the Finance Department. Manage and update relevant data, using database applications.

-Arrange and participate in meetings, conferences, local shows and project team activities. Monitor and report on market and competitor activities using relevant reports and information.

-Prepare regular and effective activity reports regarding Customers, market and Distributors.

-To conduct monthly Business Review Meetings with all Dealers, monitor performance, identify opportunities and agree action plans to achieve objectives. Liaise with all other Departments including Logistics, District Common Channel Sales, Fleet Sales, Aftersales, Finance, and Used Vehicles etc.

-To ensure positive relationships with all nominated Distributors.

-Manage time productively and effectively to achieve company objectives Conduct all business activities in a responsible and ethical manner in keeping with company policy.

Key Competencies & Behaviours:
-The successful candidate will need excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
-A wide knowledge of all aspects of Commercial Vehicles, their uses, specifications and the support services of Repair & Maintenance and Finance options.
-The ability to manage and deliver the Companies objectives is a prerequisite of this position.
-Competent computer skills. Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint as a minimum requirement.
-The position requires a manager with a methodical approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work on their own initiative within the company guidelines and policies.
