A new vacancy for an Applied Physicist with a post graduate qualification (or experience) in BioEngineering or Biotechnology, has been created at a highly respected technical consultancy providing scientific R&D services to a wide range of clients. The Physicist / BioEngineer will work on a variety of highly advanced projects developing new technologies and solutions -primarily for biotechnology / medical device companies. This is an exceptional opportunity for a hands-on Physicist to join a dynamic scientific consultancy dedicated to developing seriously clever technological solutions. As an Applied Physicist / BioEngineer you will use your hands-on science research skills and passion for innovation to develop concepts, technologies and products for global leaders in the Medical Devices marketplace. You will work on multiple scientific R&D projects alongside senior technical and commercial business leaders to address client needs, creating bespoke devices in seriously challenging development programmes. Although prior experience of Medical Device Development is preferred, it is not essential -more important is the ability, aptitude and passion to deliver scientific innovation and cutting edge solutions.



To be considered for the role of Physicist / Bioengineer you need the following:

Education:

* A 2.1 / 1st (MSc/MPhys/MRes/MPhil/MA/MEng) in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering etc and ideally a (PhD, DPhil , EngD) in Bioengineering / Biomedical Engineering /Biotechnology (or similar) from a leading university



Experience

* A Strong background in Biotechnology, biomedical devices, or bioengineering - perhaps device development, materials development and behaviour, MEMS or microfluidic device development etc)
* Experience of applying engineering principles to biological systems.
* Experience of developing Small/Medium products.
* Experience in working in a project based environment.
* Experience in leading projects, team and technical developments
* An real enthusiasm for scientific and engineering innovation
