Manufacturing Engineer - Machining

A global world class manufacturer, is looking to strengthen its team with the appointment of an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to provide day to day support to Operations for the plants Machine Shop.

The Successful Candidate:

* Relevant Manufacturing Experience in a Machining environment
* SMED Experience to reduce change over time
* Experience of the latest market technology with regard to Tool Tips and new Tool Tip material
* Measurement equipment experience
* Experience of the latest market technology in the improvement of cycle times and methods
* Technical Drawing experience - ability to challenge the norm with new ideas and past work experience of Continuous Improvement techniques

* An understanding of manufacturing systems, production flow lines and the introduction of new technologies
* Technically competent to read engineering drawings, reports and metrology results
* Experience of specifying, designing and procuring production tooling and equipment
* Experience of producing SOP's
* A good understanding of production quality issues and the impact that processes/equipment can have on these
* Knowledge of Lean Principles and quality problem solving tools
* Able to conduct PFMEAs
* IT Literate - Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel)
* An awareness of current EH&S legislation

Responsibilities Overview:

* Provide day to day support to Operations, helping to ensure that Safety, Quality & Output targets are met
* Author, implement and maintain a robust 'Standard Work' process that meets stringent Quality Management System requirements
* Ensure manufacturing methods and processes within the facility are capable of meeting requirements for quality, delivery rate, cost and lead time
* Develop, improve and provide innovation to the manufacturing process, including the trial and implementation of new technologies
* Lead / support quality issue investigations, quickly providing robust containment actions and conducting root cause analysis to implement permanent corrective actions
* Support new product introduction activities, through working closely with Design Engineering, ensuring that new capabilities / methods are at the required level of readiness for production and application
