About the role
We are looking for a Group FP&A Manager who will provide central support and analysis to senior stakeholders within Royal Mail. They will manage the 3 year financial plan and in year re-forecast, and lead the analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual results, providing explanations to financial and non-financial variances across the Group. Performing valuable analysis for senior stakeholders on a timely basis, they will educate and develop finance staff, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the wider team.
Managing and co-ordinating the business plan and forecasting process, you will create timetables, provide guidance notes to business units, and support business units through the submission process and making sure the budget is uploaded to system. You will provide expert understanding of methodologies adopted in financial and non-financial reporting, and will also investigate variances in performance from budget / forecast / prior year providing analysis to senior stakeholders. Supporting the ongoing improvement and standardisation of forecasting and planning processes, tools and systems in order to drive efficiency and accuracy you will develop a strong network and become recognised as a key point of contact. The role offers exposure at a senior level and a unique opportunity to understand the direction of Royal Mail Group’s future.
A qualified accountant with CCAB qualification, you will have good knowledge of financial and non-financial measures and processes as well as external market reporting experience. With good communication skills you will have the ability to interact with management and senior stakeholders regarding complex financial issues, and will build relationships that allow you to become a trusted partner. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills are essential, and you will have the ability to think creatively and analytically, as well as being able to challenge others where appropriate. You will take a flexible approach to your workload as there will be periods of intense pressure; a self-starting and positive approach is essential.
