Our client

Undertakes construction projects throughout the north west of England, including Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and Cheshire. The client base includes many blue-chip companies across a wide range of sectors, such as Commercial, Health, Industrial and Education and social. The company has a low staff turnover rate and continuous investment in training means they can offer an unparalleled level of quality and safety on all of their projects

The Person.

You will thrive on the challenges presented by complex projects. Complicated structural alterations, heavily occupied buildings, logistically awkward town centre locations, listed buildings, multi-storey tower blocks with a can-do attitude and engineering background.

Due to company growth, an opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who has proven background working projects between the value of £250k-£10million.

The Role:

The ideal candidate will have a successful track record within the house building industry. You will be highly organised, familiar with co-ordinating multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive on working to deadlines.

Excellent communication skills, proficient with IT and a high attention to detail, are qualities they will possess, in addition to being self motivated, professional, positive and a team player

* Liaise with subcontractors for quotations.
* Compare prices from different costs.
* Chase subcontractors for prices.
* Prepare subcontract payments with current contracts and final accounts/ check retention value.
* Authorise quotation costs
* Adhere to budgets and source quotations which provide best value and best quality.
* Pass procurement information to relevant Quantity Surveyor for approval.
* Input cost data for subcontractors.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

* NVQ Level 3, A Levels, HNC, Degree or equivalent qualifications
* Good knowledge including Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint

* Thorough understanding of financial reporting, contractual terms and conditions and statutory requirements
* Good analytical skills and the ability to apply common sense in all situations
* Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
* Customer and delivery focused
* Full driving licence essential
