An opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer with a chemical engineering bias. Due to business growth there is a need to invest in Chemical & Process Engineering projects for the manufacture of adhesives, Collagen & gels and associated process and utilites projects for the generation of steam and treated water. This role will report to the Group Engineering Manager.

Key Accountabilities:
• To manage budgeted engineering, process and facility improvement and development projects in
• excess of £30,000 in compliance with the requirements of cGMP, FDA QSR 21CFR 820, IS013485 &
• European Medical Devices Directive MDD94/42/EEC and Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation.
• To establish and lead Project Management Teams to establish a Project Charter, User Requirement Specification and Capital application
• To manage Project teams to deliver the Project to specification on time and within budget whilst
• meeting the requirements of QMS, Regulatory Bodies and Customers
• To support local Operational teams at the request of the site Operations Manager in projects less
• than £30,000 in respect of providing engineering, process, or Project Management expertise and resource support
• Management of Process or Chemical Engineering Projects across the AMS Group of companies.
The ideal candidate will have:

• Engineering Degree Qualified to BSc or higher in Chemical Engineering preferred. Engineers qualified to BSc or Higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or to a HNC with over 10 years plus experience considered.
• Ability to demonstrable understanding of Stage Gate Project Management Principles preferred.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge in the delivery of capital projects
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge and methodology in the delivery of capital projects from concept and evaluation to the operational PQ stage of new production ,process lines, utility infrastructure projects, and related civil engineering projects.
• Experience of management of projects within the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical Industries preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Demonstration of knowledge in the development and presentation of business cases for capital investment projects to senior management teams.
• Ability to work well within a team with a flexible approach.
• Knowledge and understanding of H&S legislation, quality and compliance.
• Demonstration of knowledge in the planning and execution of projects to a defined cost, timeframe and specification.
• Must be willing to spend a significant period of their time within any one year, working across the Group of companies within Europe
