We currently have a portfolio of 18 restaurants nationally, with ambitious plans for expansion, creating plenty of opportunity for career progression for those who seek to continue to grow their skills and position within the company.

We are currently seeking an ambitious and high performing Duty Manager for our Mere Green restaurant, who is ready for the next stage in their career development to train as an Assistant General Manager to (after training) lead the Front of House team in the absence of the General Manager. Our Mere Green restaurant typically caters for a volume of anything from around 35 covers on a quiet weekday lunch service up to around 250 covers per service on a busy lunchtime, evening or weekend. The Trainee Assistant General Manager role is a fully hands on role during service, along with (after training) overall responsibility for the performance of the whole restaurant including the back of house while the General Manager is away. The Trainee Assistant General Manager takes on the full role of serving our customers while also being responsible for the supervision of the front of house team. The Trainee Assistant General Manager role is one that’s instrumental in achieving the company’s vision-‘great value, delicious cooking in a busy, buzzy atmosphere by a friendly and professional team enjoying themselves. This is a role that’s intense and very hands-on and will see you taking responsibility for assisting the General Manager in the running of the bistrot both financially, in terms of customer service and with regard to the overall product from freshly made and cooked dishes to running a scrupulously clean restaurant.

Cost management and meeting financial targets is a primary focus, nurturing a strong and competent team and working directly with the Front of House team and Head Chef in delivering delicious cooking which exceeds customer expectations are a must. You’ll be proven in a supervisory capacity in this area, be confident, engaging and have excellent inter-personal skills and leadership qualities

We require a hard working, enthusiastic, very hands on Trainee Assistant General Manager. If you have a cool head under pressure, thrive on team work, a proven track record in a premium casual dining background, are ambitious, have a good sense of humour, an eye for detail and truly understand the notion of hospitality then we’d love to hear from you! A great people person with proven success as a Duty Manager / Assistant General Manager is essential.
