Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

An Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is required by leading scientific manufacturing company. The successful candidate will be responsible to maintain and improve the performance of the machines used in day to day manufacture. This will include carrying out a wide range of planned and breakdown maintenance on a variety of low to medium speed production machinery that use in combination electrics/electronics hydraulics and pneumatics. The role will be working 39 hour week, Monday to Friday.

Daily Duties:

* Conduct daily plant and machinery inspection and record findings.
* Undertake planned maintenance inspections.
* Perform day to day frontline fault finding and repair work.
* Maintain accurate job and service records.

Key Skills and Experience Required:-

* Be a multi skilled maintenance engineer with electrical bias with sound understanding of Mechanical Systems.
* Have recognised electronic / electrical / Mechanical qualifications or fully time served apprenticeship or equivalent.
* Have experience of working with industrial pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
* Have significant previous experience working within Production environment.
* Have good PLC fault-finding capability.
* Comply with safety, environmental, process and product quality standards and procedures.
* Have good working knowledge of industrial manufacturing plant and production systems, including robots, conveyors, pumps, compressed air and dust extraction systems.
* Be prepared to work closely with manufacturers, suppliers and internal departments in finding ways to improve process and increase machine reliability and performance.
* Successful track record of accurately diagnosing and fixing electric/electronic/ pneumatic/hydraulic and general mechanical faults in industrial packaging and process equipment.
* Full working knowledge and problem solving capability on machines using a range of PLC's ( for example Siemens, Allen Bradley, Omron or Mitsubishi)
* Excellent working knowledge of electro- mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic control systems
* Computer literate with knowledge and experience of inputting data to and interrogating maintenance and plc software
* Trained to current edition of the electrical standards and regulations.
* Good communication skills (written & verbal).

On-going Temporary position.

Rate: £15.00p/hr,

Shift: Monday to Friday: 6am-2pm & 2pm-10pm

Flexibility is required, as may be required to cover other shifts

Location: Harlow, Essex
