BRC Social Housing are currently recruiting for a Housing Options Officer for one of our key clients in Somerset. This is initially a 3 month contract starting within the next couple of weeks.

We require an experienced Housing Options Officers to carry out the Council's strategic objectives and government targets and implement the council's Homelessness Strategy.

The main responsibilities for the Housing Options Officer are:

•  Provide comprehensive advice on housing issues and to prevent homelessness wherever possible.

•  To accurately assess and discharge the council's duty to homeless applicants.

In order to be considered for the role of Housing Options Officer it is essential that you have previous experience of carrying out homelessness assessment and determination and have an excellent working knowledge of the 1996 Housing Act and Homelessness Act 2002 for a Local Authority. It would be a distinct advantage if you have experience of making S184 decisions
