We have an exciting opportunity to recruit an Operations Migration Lead for our Client based in Newcastle. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the migration of users to Office 365, directing the work of a team of approximately 10 technical specialists working at geographically dispersed sites.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide management command and control for the Migration delivery
- Ensure successful migration events
- Oversee the execution of a defined set of tasks to ensure task owners complete their duties on time and to a defined standard (KPI)
- Ability to work to a flexible schedule
- Concise and accurate progress reporting to senior management using pre-defined templates and metrics. Deliver verbal and ad-hoc progress updates to senior management as requested
- Ability to collate and accurately document and explain the cause of failures and there recommended remediation actions for handover to daytime resolver groups
- Maintain accurate notes on progress of migration. Write and present a handover document within the timeframe of completing the migration activity
- Set and maintain the pace and tone for the night time migration to ensure defined performance metrics are achieved. This will involve making proactive and reactive decisions over the prioritisation of the work of task owners
- Apply good judgment in the escalation of decisions to senior management
- Ensure pre-migration checklists are completed as a pre-requisite for migration commencement
- Ensure agreed migration cadence communications are published (commencement, regular updates closure)
- Work with multiple stakeholders to highlight correct task owners

Essential Skills:
- Professional experience with a minimum 5 years in an IT operations environment and 3 years in people management
- Experience of PMO environment
- Professional experience in an operations environment achieving day to day delivery
- Excellent communication skills, being able to chair and manage conference calls on a daily basis
- Attention to detail and quick to react with a drive to achieve a successful outcome
- Able to multi-task in a pressurised environment
- Advanced MS skills
- Strong analytical skills

Personal Skills:
- Strong interpersonal, communication skills across all levels of management including intercultural relationship experience
- Comfortable working in a pressurised environment where other team members may have strongly held or conflicting opinions
- Capable of making informed, evidence based decisions when acting on incomplete information
- Remain calm under pressure whilst maintaining a confident leadership style that encourages colleagues to give their best
- Excel at communicating clearly and directly to senior management
- Able to solicit and willing to act upon advice given by other team members
- Experience of understanding and working to Key Performance Indicators
- Strong drive for results at a personal and team level

Due to the business needs of this role the successful candidate must have existing security clearance or be able to attain security clearance. If applicants do not currently have security clearance they must have photographic ID in the form of a passport or driving license, that is in date and reflects the applicants current address. Proof of address would also be required in the form of 2 bills dated within the last 3 months.
