Sales Ledger Clerk

Location: Harlow
Salary: £20,000- £22,000 per annum.
Type: Permanent
Benefits: Parking on site, pension's scheme + 25 days holiday entitlement.
Hours: Monday - Friday 09:00- 17:30.

Adecco are currently recruiting for a Sales Ledger Clerk in Harlow. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a leading local business in the region that would offer a great place to work free parking and a generous pension scheme.

As a Sales Ledger Clerk you will be responsible for the application of cash receipt's from customers and suppliers along with ensuring the sales ledger is regularly reconciled and maintained.

Key Accountabilities:

* Organising post for incoming Cheque Payments, BACS Remittances advices.
* Downloading bank statements.
* Reviewing and identifying unposted bank statement items.
* Posting the cheque values to the customer accounts.
* Posting the values of customer bank transfers to the customer accounts.
* Allocating customer receipts to invoices from remittance advices.
* Utilising the automatic matching of cash options where possible.
* Monthly review of accounts in Credit.
* Recording the receipt batches posted.
* Running and reviewing the unmatched cash reports.
* Batch up the cheques for banking and banking the cheques.
* Reconciling payments made to the account with customers.
* Applying actions to the customer accounts such as payment discounts, customer debit notes and small write offs.
* Regular review of outstanding debit notes.
* Clear cash items in treasury systems and support bank reconciliations.
* Entry of credit notes on customer account and any relevant re-invoicing where required.
* Escalation of issue's to supervisor or manager.

Essential Skills:

* Proven experience within a sales or purchase ledger.
* Intermediate excel skills- Advance knowledge of excel (Pivot tables, V-lookups) is essential.
* General knowledge of receivables.
* Excellent knowledge of accounting, general accounting and reporting processes.
* Strong Reconciliation, Finance system and data manipulation skills.

Desirable Skills:
* Oracle knowledge would be highly advantageous.
* Language skills: English plus fluent in another language.
