Assistant Design / Technical Coordinator
£35k- £38k plus full co package

Our client is a leading, well-established main contractor based in the North West who are now recruiting an Assistant Design/ Technical Coordinator.
As the Design Coordinator, you will be working on the coordination of a project or series of projects. Your will work closely between the in-house tender and construction teams and any external consultants together with specialist trade contractors undertaking design and detailing work.

Responsibilities:
• Give design information to the production team allowing for projects to be completed
• Research and give suggestions on different types of design processes
• Assist in the preparation of Design & Build submission by liaising with the estimating team
• Work in conjunction with other departments: Buying, Commercial, Production & Estimating
• Establish the most cost- effective solution through value engineering
• Challenging the design to minimise the waste, maximise value and opportunity and reduce risk
• Implementing agreed processes for the production, control and distribution of design information at different project stages
• Ensuring regular progress reporting of the design, covering production, coordination and interfaces, against a timeline
• Ensuring design information is thoroughly reviewed for buildability, safety and maintainability, completeness & technical suitability before use
• Managing the production and issue of working drawings and technical information
• Managing the design process, the design management plan and its various parts

You must have:
• Knowledge of working as a Architectural Designer / Design Coordinator on construction projects.
• Architecture / Construction Degree or equivalent
• Must be proficient with Auto CAD 2004 (or later version) and REVIT
• Excellent time management and administration skills
• Experience in utilising BIM Execution Plans
• Technical understanding of design and specification coordination
• Experience in using Document Control Systems, Asite, 4Projects etc.
• Good team building and motivation skills
