Firmware Engineer - Electronics, C/C++

An intelligent clothing company based in the Midlands is seeking a junior to mid-level Firmware Engineer to join their fast-growing company. In this Firmware Engineer role, you will work within a small, motivated group of talented individuals, developing the firmware for a unique product in the embedded electronics field. The company licenses its novel embedded electronics technology to some of Europe`s largest manufacturers and also has distributors across the world.

Joining this flourishing company as a Firmware Engineer, you will have excellent knowledge of C and C++ as well as an understanding of electronic circuits, and experience with wireless protocols such as Bluetooth or I2C.

This exciting electronics start-up sits at the intersection between electronics, clothing and data, embedding electronics devices into clothing to create smart garments – a booming industry expected to be valued in the trillions of dollars in the near future.

Their dynamic growth and innovative technology has already garnered attention from the likes of the BBC and The Sunday Times, as well as their products being featured in national and international museums, including London's Science Museum and New York's Museum of Modern Art (MOMA).

If you have a high level of competency in programming in embedded C and C++ programming, as well as experience programming ST microcontrollers, and strong communication skills, this role might be perfect for you.

Currently, they`re on a quest to seek a talented Firmware Engineer to expand the team.

Your main responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

- Design, develop, test and maintain quality firmware within a multi-disciplinary team

- Take a ‘hands-on` approach to overcome complex issues and to solve problems

- Interact directly with customers and suppliers, and build internal and external networks

As the ideal Firmware Engineer, you will possess:

- A hands-on approach to embedded and electronics development

- Significant experience in embedded C and C++ programming (minimum 2 years)

- Experience with I2C, SPI, Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low Energy protocols

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
