Our client is looking to recruit an M&E Maintenance Technician (Electrical Biased) to be based at Northwich on a temp to perm basis. To confirm the full-time salary for the role will be £26,000 per annum.

The purpose of the role will be to join the exisiting maintenance team with responsibilities for maintenance to our client's assets, including Diesel Engines, Bridges, Locks and Culverts.

+ Maintenance of mechanised bridges, locks, pumps and automated sluices which make up the waterways infrastructure within the vibrant Docklands area and across London. Plus works to the associated Electrical equipment & plant used to access the waterways.

+ Completing routine planned maintenance and mandatory inspections to complex structures as well as completing re-active repairs. This ensures that structures operate correctly and that facilities such as access routes and lights are available to the thousands of people who access the canal network on a daily basis.

+ Fault diagnosis and repair on the various hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems, used to control and operate all the automated assets. The work plays a key part in making sure that commercial and private vessels can move around Docklands and on/off the River Thames.

+ Assisting operational staff when required, including interaction with customers & volunteers alike. There are opportunities to get involved in local events and to work with people from local communities.

The successful candidate will have a strong M&E maintenance background with an Electrical Bias.

The 17th Edition and the 2391 Inspection and Testing Qualification would be preferred.

The Working hours are 8.30- 5.00pm Mon - Wednesday. Thursday 8.00am - 4.30pm and Friday 8.30am-4.30pm (1hour lunch break 12.30pm-1.30pm to suit)

This equates to 37 hours per week and would include participation on a Rota'd week end on call rota for Anderton Boat lift from April through to November
