Disability Access Officer - Permanent - Swansea - £25,000 - £27,000 per annum

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Disability Access Officer in one of our prominent clients. It is an exciting opportunity for someone who has experience within this sector to assist with ensuring that employees and customers can get the best experience when visiting the premises.
The Disability Access Officer will be overseeing accessibility across all areas of its business operations, including hospitality, digital, retail and safeguarding.

Your new role
Have a clear and precise understanding of disability legislation and the company's responsibility to provide an accessible premises.
Have responsibility for the maintenance and accuracy of the Access Statement.
Liaise with departments on how they can make their services more accessible and provide the necessary support to department managers to ensure these improvements are made.
Advise and consult with architects, surveyors, develops, designers, contractors and health and safety personnel.
Respond to and act on, where appropriate, requests, comments or complaints from all concerned with disability access, including issues raised by customers the Disabled Supporters Association or the Disability Liaison Officer.
Submit reports to senior management on accessibility and support all required paperwork/reports
Prepare budgets based on the required access improvements.
Take responsibility for the general upkeep of all disability and accessibility related items on the website.
Work closely with the media and communications team, as well as external agencies, to ensure the website meets standard guidelines and to seek continuous improvements.
Keep informed of any new policies/legislation relating to disability and accessibility requirements.

What you'll need to succeed
Working knowledge of equality legislation and ability to demonstrate experience of working on issues of accessibility.
Ability to build strong working relationships across departments and with third parties through tactful and diplomatic communications.
Competent IT skills, including use of Microsoft Excel to a high standard.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Educated to degree level or equivalent (desirable)
Demonstrate good organisational skills and ability to manage tasks
independently; not always relying on instruction.
Promotes a 'can do' attitude and a desire to improve the company's services.
