Service Manager (Marine Engineering)


Monday to Friday 08:30 to 17:00

£30,000 - £35,000 + 20 days + Bank holidays + Pension

Service Manager position available for a well-established market leading marina.

The successful candidate will come from a marine engineering back ground with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the leisure marine industry. It is essential that you have Volvo Penta product experience either through previously working for a Volvo Penta dealer/centre or having attended a Volvo Penta training course. Experience working with other major marine leisure brands such as Honda, Yamaha, Evinrude and Yanman is also very important.

The company is well known within the industry and is respected for its excellent level of customer service and very high customer retention. The company are still growing strong after decades of business and are still actively promoting themselves at events such as national boat shows

The Role:

* To ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Service department

* Ensuring jobs are completed to deadlines in an efficient manner, achieving department targets and KPI's

* To meet targets and implement procedures securing the future development of the service department

* Reporting to the Directors any feedback and results at monthly management meetings.

* The service manager will be able to motivate and develop the service department

* Day to day management and control of Service department ensuring customer expectations are exceeded at all times

The Person:

* Leisure marine industry experience and marine engineering back ground

* Experience with Volvo Penta engines

* The ability to converse at a technical level with customers and colleagues is essential

* Understanding of management accounts and working to budgets and targets

* Excellent communication skills, and excellent customer care skills

* Good managerial and motivational skills
