£60,000 per annum (+ bonus and benefits)

The company is the AIM listed parent of a group of Software as a Service (SaaS) businesses that deliver comprehensive compliance solutions for both the public and private sectors. Its main subsidiary is Europe’s leading provider of software for communications, public affairs and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities of Financial Controller:
The Financial Controller will play a key role in the future growth of the business and will ensure that the finance function is fit for purpose.
Leading a team of five, they will have responsibility for: the month end close process, management accounts, statutory reporting, payroll, taxation, financial planning, and process development for all Group companies.

The Financial Controller will report into the CFO, deputising when required, and will also work closely with the CEO. The responsibilities of the Financial Controller will include but are not limited to:

Team management
• Line management of five members of the finance team

Month end close process
• Managing the team’s monthly financial close process including:
­ Dashboard/KPI reporting (including development of new KPIs)
­ Review of all relevant sections for each group company
­ Review of individual entity management accounts
­ Preparation/review of consolidated group management accounts
• Financial analysis

Payroll
• Review of payroll
• Review of commissions

VAT
• Review of quarterly VAT returns

Annual audit, accounts and tax
• Management of audit process including preparation of annual report for AIM listed parent
• Preparation of interim financial results announcement
• Review of subsidiary company annual reports
• Coordination with tax advisers on preparation of corporation tax returns

Other
• Ownership of renewal targets
• Ownership of price book, including modelling new product lines as and when required
• Support of finance leadership with budgeting and forecasting
• Process improvement and systems development
• Other ad hoc finance projects as required

Essential Skills required:
• Qualified Chartered Accountant with a strong academic background essential (ACA from top 10 accounting practice preferred)
• Team management experience
• A 'can do’ attitude and strong attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to develop relationships with staff in other areas of the business.
• Advanced MS Excel skills
