An opportunity in Taunton for an experienced Software Developer with Solutions Design and/or Architecture experience to join a highly successful international company. They have a strong reputation in their field and are continuing to expand their business both globally and online. This role has arisen due to a large systems transformation project currently underway and they require additional expertise in the team to support this and an ongoing programme of works.
Your new role
You'll be taking on a varied, hands-on role that will require you to design, develop and produce high quality systems solutions and technical documentation. You will work in Development and Solutions Design team to help to deliver improvements to existing legacy products as well as working on the architecture, design, integration and delivery of new internal and external products and applications. You will be required to liaise with colleagues and stakeholders across the business, forging strong relationships to help ensure the success of the project. You will be supporting the business strategy and enabling the company to stay ahead of the competition, increasing revenue and growing its customer base. You will join an experienced and professional team who are really passionate about their work. It is a broad, challenging and varied role which will enable you to develop both professionally and personally in your career.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally you will hold a degree in a Computer Science or Technical degree, or have demonstrable professional commercial experience. You will have Software/Systems Development background and have been responsible for translating business requirements into effective, quality solutions. Having knowledge of full software development life cycle, continuous integration, SOA, design patterns, Webservices, Oracle and other databases, as well as producing technical documentation will be extremely valuable in this role. As an individual you must be a confident communicator, have great interpersonal skills and be a team player. You must be able to collaborate effectively and be comfortable contributing ideas and innovations to support the project success. You will be an enthusiastic, highly organised person, having attention to detail, taking real pride in your work and achieving the best results.
