Based in Croydon our client has over 25 years experience within their sector. They are looking to recruit an experienced Financial Controller with good experience of being an FC in a medium to large sized company, with a turnover of circa £60-80 Million plus. Duties and Responsibilities include leading/ motivating a small Central Finance team of five, provide direction and development, performance appraisals and reviewing all their work, including management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations; Responsible for maintaining and developing the financial system with the help of the System Accountant; Continually develop the existing systems and controls in this fast pace and rapidly growing business ; Monitor performance against budget, ensuring no overspends; Provide business and financial support to Finance Director as required, to include assistance in setting budgets and reviewing reports on actuals and variances; Set the annual timetable for all areas of financial reporting; Work with the Senior Finance Business Partners to ensure adherence to finance practices. Also the development and improvement of reporting and efficient running of the company's finance function. Liaise with the Internal Audit team to ensure all finance procedures are adhered to and any other issues as appropriate.

The ideal person must be CCAB Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with around 10 year’s post qualified experience with recent and relevant continued professional development. Have proven experience of leading a finance and operations function within a medium-large sized enterprise, with a turnover/income of £50-250 million. Possess a strong intellect and ability and willingness to work well in an intellectually challenging environment. Able to work well in and with a strong, highly experienced senior management team. An excellent communicator, in both person and in writing, with highly developed interpersonal skill. A robust character that is able to balance a strong regard for financial integrity and risk-management with competition for resources with a 'can-do’ attitude.
