Senior Trading Manager / London £75,000

My client is a proven market leader and they are seeking an experienced Telecoms Senior Trading Manager to join their expanding team in Central London. The Senior Trading Manager is a key role within my client’s telecoms business unit and provides the interface between the business unit and the sales channels to ensure targets are set at an appropriate level and are subsequently achieved. The role manages one of the main KPIs in the business unit and therefore offers significant influence on telecoms product, commercial and service decisions.

Measures of success

  • Achieve forecasted Telecoms customer gross additions on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Achieve forecasted live customer target, by managing the customer sales pipeline by ensuring sales in channels become live customers.
  • Achieve agreed cost to acquire, working with the customer proposition, commercial and marketing teams.
  • Achieve the agreed channel mix of targets between Branch, Online, and contact centre, through rigorous management of KPIs e.g. conversion, attachment, CTA etc

Key areas of accountability

  • Understand customers by leveraging multiple data sources to develop data based customer insight to champion the customer needs and inform decision-making.
  • Definition and execution of a multi-channel sales strategy and detailed channel plans for the telecoms portfolio. Ensuring alignment with the overall telecoms strategy and execution buy in from channel heads.

Functional Knowledge - Describe the level of specific knowledge / skills and understanding expected to perform this role

  • Experience of influencing senior sales stakeholders to agree plans to drive sales performance.
  • Comfortable being held accountable for challenging overall business unit sales targets.
  • Comfortable with negotiating sales targets with channel heads and holding individuals to account on delivery.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the UK fixed telephone and broadband market place, including multi product bundling.

Business expertise - Describe the level of business understanding and how the role and department integrates with other business areas or business as a whole.

  • Develop a good understanding of the business priorities and cross functional / virtual teams.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong trusted relationships with key stakeholders in the business to enable the team to deliver their targets.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and identify individuals motivations to agree mutually beneficial solutions

Knowledge and skills required

  • UK Fixed line/mobile industry
  • Excel
  • PowerPoint
  • Preferred 5+ years’ successful fixed line/mobile telecoms experience gained at any of the following: a Telco, Telco re-seller or technology company.
  • 5+ years’ experience of multiple channel Management.
  • Distance selling & Online Channel experience desirable.
