The Royal College of General Practitioners is the largest membership organisation solely for GPs in the United Kingdom. South West Thames Faculty requires an Administrator to manage the day to day core activities of a local office including provision of administrative support to the Faculty Board who seek to develop and deliver local initiatives to members and implement / facilitate national activities delivered at local level. This will include travel within the South West Thames area to attend Board meetings, educational and social events.
Educated to `A` level standard (or equivalent), you will have relevant experience in an administrative role and be competent in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Publisher, email, internet and have knowledge of purchase order management financial software. You will have excellent organisational, time management and communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and make effective use of the College systems provided to support you in your duties. Experience of providing committee administration and minute-taking is desirable. A flexible approach to working hours is necessary as attendance at some evening meetings will be required. Knowledge of the health service would be an advantage.
In this varied and busy post you will provide a high standard of administrative support to the Faculty Board, all of whom are volunteers. Duties will include organising and attending meetings, maintaining regular contact with Faculty Officers, working with the Events Administrator to deliver educational courses and conferences, and being responsible for Faculty finances, communications and database management. You will be required to be a self starter, manage your own time and priorities whilst under the supervision of the Regional Engagement Manager - London and South England.
