Finance Assistant - Central London

Our client is a rapidly growing professional services business specialising in the IT sector. They require a Finance Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, positive candidate to join a market-leading business, supporting both the general accounts team, and also the payroll function of the business.


  • Reconciliation of monthly margin to make sure this agrees with month end accounts
  • Calculation of contract commissions due to consultants on a monthly basis
  • Monthly bank reconciliation of contractor payments on Sage line 50
  • Reconciling the contractor ledger (aged creditors) on Sage line 50 weekly
  • Answering and dealing with all contractor queries by email/telephone
  • Processing of contractor timesheets - Checking client portals and email approvals to ensure only valid timesheets are processed accurately
  • Raising invoices to clients, and ensuring they are sent out in a timely manner
  • Creating and circulating a missing timesheet report (and then the investigation of missing timesheets)
  • Uploading invoice batches to our finance facility
  • Raising payment batches in the system and entering payments on the bank
  • Sending out remittances and self-bill invoices to contractor limited/umbrella companies
  • Generating weekly and monthly margin reports on contract GP
  • Checking and submission of quarterly intermediary reports to HMRC
  • Updating the pay and bill system with new client/candidate details
  • Assisting the contract invoice credit controller with invoicing issues where required

Any other ad-hoc duties as requested by the Finance Manager
