Responsible for maximising rental income and supporting customers to improve their quality of life and sustain tenancies, the Current Rent Manager will lead, manage and supervise a team of Rent Recovery Officers responsible for the collection and recovery of rent and service charges from tenants.

Ensuring that rental income is maximised and that tenants are advised and supported effectively to sustain their tenancies, ensuring that our client remains a top performer across the sector in this area, you will set and monitor targets and manage performance against set targets; ensuring a consistent approach and addressing under-performance as appropriate.

You must also deal with more complex rent arrears queries received by the team and prepare and present rent possession cases at the County Court.

Candidates for this role must have demonstrable previous experience of rent collection in a high performing Social Housing context coupled with excellent knowledge of rent recovery processes, County Court possession proceedings and of welfare benefits. Able to adapt quickly to new IT systems and use Microsoft Office applications effectively, you must demonstrate effective performance management skills and be capable of acting as the organisation’s representative at Rent Possession hearings in the County Court.
