Our Client, Harrow Council is offering a fantastic opportunity for self-driven and motivated Community Cohesion Policy Officer to join our team.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual to join us as a Community Cohesion Policy Officer.

To be successful in this role you would need to have the below skills & experience:

The post holder will lead policy development, engagements/consultations and service improvement projects, as directed by the Senior Lead for Community Cohesion to support the development of the corporate direction of the authority.
The post holder will engage with councillors, senior managers, Government Departments and national and regional policy forums
The post holder reports to the Senior Lead for Community Cohesion.
The post holder will focus their policy support in the context of the delivery of specific outcomes, for example, in respect of community cohesion, including hate crime, counter-extremism and Prevent. The post holder will undertake all of the activities and responsibilities outlined below with regard to the delivery of outcomes associated with this specific area.
The post holder will be responsible for:

Working across the authority to influence and develop the community cohesion direction of the authority.
Developing policy expertise with regard to the council’s functions in the context of the delivery of the key outcomes around the community cohesion agenda
Providing expert advice, support and analysis in this context to the Chief Executive, Corporate Strategic Board, the Leader, Portfolio Holders and the Divisional Director
Undertaking policy development, engagements/consultations and service improvement projects as commissioned by the Chief Executive, Corporate Strategic Board, the Leader, Portfolio Holders and the Divisional Director and agreed with the Senior Lead for Community Cohesion. This includes consulting with the public and community leaders on specific areas, meeting with the public individually and in groups (on and off site), and representing the Council at public meetings.
Managing, supporting, delivering and administering a portfolio of projects, engagements and research. This involves dealing with conflicting priorities and being responsive to Members, officers, partners and the public.
Providing strategic policy advice around Community Cohesion, briefings and support to the Chief Executive, Corporate Strategic Board, the Leader, Portfolio Holders, the Divisional Director and corporate partnerships.
