Unique opportunity for a Data Centre / Mechanical Design Engineer with a back-ground in HVAC Engineering or Building Services to work within the Design and Construction team for the UK arm of a Global Technology Firm. Operating in the UK since 2013 they now have sites across London, Hertfordshire and Berkshire achieving exceptional growing in this time - now employ over 100 staff and turning over more than £43m – with this on track to increase by another £15m to £20m in the coming year. They currently own and operate 4 Data Centres in the UK they are in process of designing and building a 5th, with plans in place to build additional Data Centres across their UK operation.

Key to their further grow plans is their Design and Construction team which provides technical support during the complete life cycle of a data centre project. The successful Data Centre Design Engineer will join this team and become involved in all aspects of HVAC system design and implementation from bid phase, through design, construction and onto commissioning and operation. Additionally, there will opportunity to provide technical assistance to the pre-sales, account management and operations teams and at points directly to customers.

The successful Intermediate Data Centre Design Engineer will be presented with a technically challenging position that offers opportunity to work on state of the art data centre developments, as well as an employer that are keen to offer opportunities for progression in either down a technical or commercial route. They have a training and development scheme which offers individuals that chance to further their qualifications via internal and external courses, with support to gain CEng status as well as becoming an accredited data centre designer.

Along-side general HVAC / Building Services engineering experience applicants will also possess some technical knowledge / experience gained in some of the following;
• Cooling,
• Fire Detection / Suppression Systems,

The client is open to considering engineers that already work within a design role and are looking to specialise into the critical facilities sector or those that have related sector experience (data centre or similar) within a maintenance engineering, project engineering or commission role and are looking to progress into a design focused role. It is also highly likely that will also hold a degree in a mechanical engineering based subject, although those fully qualified by experience will be considered
