Well established retail and hospitality group are searching for a Senior Graphic Designer to join their marketing department. The role will hold responsibility for the entire multi-channel graphic design function from concept through development to delivery. Ideally you will be comfortable with UI design/digital design, Photoshop, HTML and CSS marketing material, Layout design, In-Design and Illustrator

Core duties:

  • Reporting to the Design and Advertising Manager the scope of this role is to take responsibility for the entire multi-channel graphic design function from concept through development to delivery
  • You will need to drive the brand design to insure that company remains ahead of its competitors in their restaurants and in its growing omni-channel presence
  • You will generate creative content enabling business growth in line with brand values and matching customer requirements
  • Supporting the promotion of products, services and ideas with innovative approaches
  • You will be guardian of the brand, and stimulate creative activity supporting sales


  • Bringing to life the company’s brand image, driving innovation through design and execution
  • Deliver creative brilliance across all channels, ensuring customers receive a seamless message across all formats, devising and presenting brand imagery across the estate with ideas and strategies that establish a distinctive brand message
  • Drive the omni-channel creative strategy forward keeping up with industry developments to ensure the company remains ahead of market competitors
  • Delivering campaign content for business activity, including social media, direct marketing and advertising campaigns which stimulate response levels, and drive sales
  • Ensure that the brand creative guidelines and style guides are adhered to, updating where necessary to keep innovative, relevant and clear
  • Work with the Design and Advertising Manager to drive creative projects from brief stage and manage development of idea from conception through to delivery and MD sign off
  • Creating and supporting promotional activities
  • Be present on all photo-shoots to assist art direction, always being mindful of end use
  • To be pro-active in introducing and evolving creative techniques, have an understanding and awareness of working with different print techniques, using different substrates
  • Identify new and innovative opportunities for displaying graphics within the retail and hospitality environments
  • Work with relevant departments on press packs and advertising campaigns
  • Managing costs and deliver projects within budget
  • Understanding market movements, and design standards, keeping company ahead of the competition
  • Writing reports, analysing feedback on content and style guides
  • Creating content to support events, site launches, new product and business developments, consistent with the brand

Ideal candidate

  • Comfortable with UI design/digital design/Photoshop, HTML and CSS marketing material, Layout design, In-Design and Illustrator
  • Ability to question the brief, collaborate and explore beyond expected brand guidelines
  • Finger on the pulse of what’s happening in the world of food, retail and hospitality
  • Experience of using retouching processes
  • A keen eye for detail, from creative development to finished art
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time, whilst demonstrating commercial awareness at each point of review
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail and hospitality environment under pressure
  • Proven experience in similar role, ideally where you managed a small team
  • Team player with an enthusiastic and positive approach
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Good organisation and planning skills, showing the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices, but also able to work within a small, and expanding Head Office team, displaying good teamwork skills
  • Provide evidence of an adaptable approach, with moving targets and a fast paced environment

Desirable skills:

  • Fluent with Microsoft office and Adobe Creative suite (In design, illustrator, Photoshop are essential)
  • Creative flair and an eye for design
  • An appreciation of, and interest in East Asian culture, cuisine and business
  • Previous hospitality or retail design experience
  • Graduate in a relevant subject such as design, marketing, business or statistics
