Legal PA/Secretary: Corporate Wills and Probate - Salary £20 - £22k

Brook Street are delighted to present a very exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join a leading Solicitors firm based in the Fareham/Whiteley area as a Legal PA/Secretary covering Corporate Wills and Probate. My client is an award winning, innovative, and leading law firm (the first to achieve "Gold Standard" Investors in People status. Our client offers a broad range of legal services with a network of offices from the South Coast up to Scotland. This company has a great working environment - they have no barriers between departments and have a zero tolerance policy with regards to arrogance and pomposity.

Our client's specialist private client team are experienced in managing and implementing the strategies required to protect their clients' personal wealth and business assets. They are well-known for possessing the specialist knowledge needed for even the most sensitive of cases. Their expertise ranges from wills, estate planning and probate matters, inheritance tax and succession planning to legal advice concerning mental capacity issues, dealing with the Court of Protection and charity law matters.

You will be providing a full PA secretarial service supporting Legal Advisors and, where required, covering any secretarial absences within the rest of the national team where necessary. The national team are used to working cross-office, so the ideal PA will be flexible and adaptable often working on files purely electronically. This role requires proactive thinking to support the needs of the Legal Advisor.

Main responsibilities

* Typing of correspondence, documents and bills.
* Typing reports, file notes and attendance notes
* Preparing enclosures ready for signing and sending out with the post.
* Filing of incoming and outgoing post and correspondence.
* Compiling and sending bills
* Chasing bills as per Legal Advisor instruction
* Expenses
* Cheque requisitions
* Keeping records of closed files
* Interaction with clients and third parties involved in the matter mainly over the telephone
* In house forms, laser forms (credit notes)
* Diary management
* Organising meetings, travel arrangements etc.
* Travel booking for legal advisors
* Answering the telephone and dealing with routine enquiries
* Attending meetings with clients to sign documents
* Updating the case management system
* The ability to open and close files to be able to cover the national role if the administrator is away from the office

Candidate Requirements:

The preferred candidate will be an experienced Legal Secretary or Personal Assistance. Experience in wealth protection is desirable.

The candidate must have a high level of IT and typing skills (minimum of 60 wpm), including competence in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook, coupled with excellent written and oral communication skills.

You will possess excellent communication skills and a good telephone manner. High levels of accuracy and attention to detail are essential.

Must work well as part of a team and possess a pro-active team work approach as well as working on one's own initiative. You will have strong listening skills, be able to work in a methodical and organised manner, and be able to cope under pressure.

The candidate will also be self-motivated, flexible and you will have good organisational skills to ensure that the tasks are effectively scheduled within working time available, and that urgent work is completed and returned within the specified timescales.

This would suit someone who has gained experience as a legal secretary OR Legal PA and whom holds a related qualification.
