As Technical Manager of a growing food manufacturer based outside of Newport you will lead the way when it comes to the quality and technical aspects of production. You will have the opportunity to progress and develop with the business.

Client Details

My client is an international supplier of high quality food products who have a brand new manufacturing facility in Newport. With short, medium and long term plans for the business and it's people the future is looking is very bright.


As the Technical Manager your responsibilities will be, but not limited to:

  • Overall responsibility for Quality Management System and HACCP for the site.
  • Main point of contact for all Customer Technologists
  • Carry out gap analyses against all customer standards / audit protocols, including BRC, integrate changes into the QMS and implement as necessary.
  • Preparation for, leading and follow-up of all audits and visits to site
  • Responsible for devising and implementing systems and methods for driving continuous improvement in quality and food safety standards throughout the business.
  • Management of and participation in Internal auditing and QMS audit programmes.
  • Management of team of QA Technologists and Supplier Assurance Technologist.
  • Keep up to date with changes in relevant legislation and ensure changes are implemented accordingly.
  • Management of and participation in Internal auditing and QMS audit programmes.
  • Managing day to day business issues of a technical / quality nature along with the QA team.


To be considered for the Technical Managers role you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Strong Technical background with at least 3 years experience as a QA or Technical Manager.
  • Background in high-risk chilled food manufacturing.
  • Qualified to degree level in food technology or similar, OR be able to demonstrate experience that has provided similar level of knowledge.
  • Good awareness of food technology, food safety & quality management systems and manufacturing processes.
  • Good project management skills - ability to manage and lead numerous projects and issues at the same time over a diverse product and customer base.
  • Management, mentoring and development of team.
